It has been running for over a year now, yet it is still received warmly by the viewers. Coco Martin, who plays the protagonist, Kardo Dalisay, rose to the height of his career since then.
This is the exact reason why this post went viral across social media as one netizen finally discovered the story behind 'Ang Probinsyano'. Netizen Rex San Buenaventura shared that he was delighted to meet SPO1 Celso Dalisay for the 2nd time. It was only that time that he noticed that he shared the same surname with the famous protagonist from 'Ang Probinsyano'. SPO1 Dalisay then revealed that the whole story of Kardo Dalisay, from the very first time it was screened and was played by Fernando Poe Jr., was in fact his story.
According to him, famous writer Carlo J. Caparas was present at one of their awarding ceremonies. He took notice of him after he received the highest distinction award despite having a lower rank back then. Caparas was amazed of his life story and decided to write about it and turn it into a movie.
