Recently, young actress Barbie Forteza went viral due to her first attempt at wearing a bikini for GMA's top-rated primetime series 'Meant to Be.'
During her interview with PEP, Barbie shared how she worked hard for it and how her dad supported her throughout.
“May binili sila, conservative… bikini tops tapos naka-shorts ako."
“E, kasama ko si Daddy noong time na yun, sabi niya, ’Bakit ka magsu-short, tatlong linggo kang hindi kumain. Pinaghirapan mo ‘yan."
"So, dyubad [hubad]!"
"Pero the whole time na kinunan namin ang eksena, nandoon si Daddy.” she said.
She also shared how her heart fluttered as her co-stars supported her and lauded her for stepping out of her comfort zone. Some of these supportive co-stars were Ai-Ai delas Alas, Bela Padilla, Jerald Napoles, Valeen Montenegro, Rochelle Pangilinan, at Joyce Ching.
When asked about her reaction when her photo went viral, she said: “Noong time lang na yun, nag-taping kami ng Full House kaya hindi ko agad nakita."
“Nagkalat ang scandal ko. Dyusko!” she added, noting that she wasn't comfortable but director L.A. Madridejos insisted on taking the shot.
“Sa kanya lang ako pumayag na magpa-picture, kasi nga, hindi po talaga ako sanay."
“Di ba dati, nag-pose na ako ng picture na naka-swimsuit? Pero nakatalikod at personal getaway ko yun."
“Kumportable ako dahil family ko ang kasama ko."
“E, especially now, puro boys ang kasama ko, nakakailang talaga.”
She was also asked if there were any offers for her to pose for FHM and this was her answer:
“Wala, wala pong nakararating sa akin."
"Nakikita ko naman po ang mga articles nila, pero wala po…"
When asked about the possibilities of her being the cover of the popular men's magazine, she said: “Kaya kung sa kaya. Obviously, kaya ko naman, pero ayoko.”
“Hindi siguro, at saka aktres kasi ang pangarap ko, hindi naman as sexy star.”
Meanwhile, she is happy for the high ratings that 'Meant To Be' is garnering so far.
“Sobrang saya naming lahat, pero siyempre, nandoon ang pressure lalo na pagdating sa ratings."
“Sobrang sensitive namin sa ratings, konting baba, nag-a-adjust kami agad."
“Malaking bagay sa amin ang viewers, ang comments ng viewers."
